My Top 7 Running and Fitness Blog Picks For January

by Jesse Mendoza

I’m a sucker for a good running or fitness blog. When things get a little tough, I enjoy reading stories about runners going through the same struggles.

Race reports are fun too when an author does a great job of making you feel like you’re right there running with them.

Here are a few running and fitness blogs I’ve been checking out this month (in no order):

1. Believe In The Run

Lots of shoe reviews, mostly of road running shoes, but they do occasionally review trail running shoes. They also have a YouTube channel worth checking out.

2. Relentless Forward Commotion

Heather is an ACSM certified Exercise Physiologist and is an ultra running athlete, mom, and coach. I especially like the Training Tips section geared towards new runners.

3. Run With Ken

Ken has lost 80+ lbs since he started racing. As a gear geek myself, I’ve taken in a few of the gear reviews he’s written up. Ken is also a BibRave Pro and has some pretty decent race reviews written up. Check them out.

4. Run Spirited

Author Henry Howard has put together some really nice write ups of some inspiring runner stories, which have been a treat to read through. Hot Tip: Don’t miss the Discounts section for some discount codes for gear and popular races.

5. Fit Newton

Christine has lost over 100lbs on her fitness journey. If you’re an aspiring first-time marathoner, check out her post What I Wish I Knew Before I Ran My First Marathon – taken from her personal experiences.

6. Road Runner Chick

Taushah is an aspiring ultra marathoner training for her first 50 mile ultra. Updated almost daily with posts about her daily life in pictures. A fun read.

7. Ultra Running Community

Chock full of articles on ultra running, race reports, gear reviews submitted by guest contributors. Based in the UK.
